How Many Pokemon Were Introduced In Each Generation?

Pokemon is a classic franchise that never seems to end. With decades of generations, you might be wondering how many Pokemon were introduced.

Pokemon can evolve in a number of ways in the Pokemon games, sometimes they need to be holding a certain item, have to be traded under specific conditions, have specific stats when they level up, and most commonly, simply reachinga certain level.

Just How Many Pokemon Evolutionary Lines Are There?

If you’re looking to get right to it, there are 531 different evolutionary lines across all Pokemon games. This is a huge number of Pokemon and their evolutions to consider and to make it easier to digest, we broke up all the different lines by region. We're also going to work with the National Dex, making it the most complete and easiest to work with. Some regional evolutions might seem out of order this way, but since they're not different evolutionary lines, just regional changes, they are in order.

Keep in mind that even though many Pokemon don’t evolve, like Legendary Pokemon and unique Pokemon like Falinks, they are still considered to be an evolutionary line.
